SPAM® and Chard Gratin

  • 1 half pounds Swiss chard - washed, dried, stems removed, leaves roughly chopped
  • 2 slices bread, preferably slightly stale
  • 2 cups shredded Swiss cheese

Instructions :

  • Set oven rack approximately 6 inches from the warmth source and preheat the oven's broiler.
  • Heat olive oil in an oven-evidence 12-inch skillet over medium heat; stir in SPAM(R) Classic and cook dinner, stirring sometimes, till browned, 6 to 8 mins.

Notes :

  • If an oven-proof skillet isn't always available, layer the cooked components in a broiler-secure dish: first the SPAM® Classic and garlic, then cooked chard, then cheese, observed by means of breadcrumbs, and drizzle with olive oil. Broil as directed.
  • One cup of pre-made breadcrumbs can be used in place of using bread.
  • Two pounds of sparkling spinach may be substituted for the Swiss chard, if desired. Drain the pan after wilting the spinach so there'll not be extra liquid inside the finished dish.
